Core Structure and Functional Description

■ Knife-fuse switch unit (core protection of main circuit)

The main incoming circuit of this equipment is equipped with a dedicated low-voltage knife-fuse switch, which serves as the main power control and primary protection component for the entire unit. It integrates the dual functions of a disconnector and a fuse, and is the core guarantee for the safe operation of the outdoor JP cabinet.

Core features :

1. Safety isolation function : After the switch is opened, there is a clearly visible break, which can completely cut off the main power supply of the cabinet, providing safety isolation protection for equipment inspection and maintenance, eliminating the hidden dangers of live work, and complying with electrical safety specifications.

2. Overload and short circuit protection : Built-in high breaking capacity fuse. When the power distribution circuit has overload, short circuit, or current over-limit faults, the fuse can melt quickly and cut off the main circuit power supply instantly, effectively protecting the downstream cables, electrical equipment and capacitor compensation units, and avoiding safety accidents such as equipment burnout and line fire.

3. Load operation capability : Supports load opening and closing operations within the rated current range, with clear operation feel, reliable mechanical interlocking, and prevention of misoperation. It is suitable for outdoor power distribution scenarios with frequent start-stop and load fluctuation.

4. Durable and robust : The shell is made of outdoor flame-retardant insulating material with silver-plated contacts. It has excellent conductivity, is oxidation-resistant and arc-resistant, and is suitable for harsh outdoor environments such as high temperature, humidity and dust. It has a long mechanical life and low failure rate.

■ Automatic Capacitor Compensation Unit (Intelligent Energy-Saving Core)

The cabinet has an independent reactive power compensation compartment, equipped with an intelligent reactive power compensation controller, self-healing low-voltage parallel capacitors, and composite switching switches to achieve fully automatic dynamic reactive power compensation without manual intervention, accurately optimize power grid quality, and reduce line losses.

Core features :

1. Fully Automatic Intelligent Switching : The controller collects parameters such as voltage, current, reactive power, and power factor of the power distribution system in real time, accurately judges the reactive power deficit of the power grid, and automatically controls the switching of capacitor groups. Capacitor compensation is automatically activated during peak load periods and automatically disconnected during off-peak periods, with dynamic adjustment throughout the process, always keeping the power factor of the power grid above 0.95, avoiding undercompensation and overcompensation problems.

2. Precise compensation by phase and common phase : Adopting advanced phase and graded compensation technology, it can accurately compensate for single-phase and three-phase reactive power losses in three-phase unbalanced load scenarios, effectively reducing three-phase current imbalance, reducing neutral current, improving transformer operating conditions, and is suitable for unbalanced load distribution scenarios such as residential buildings and small factories.

3. Balanced and durable cyclic switching : Adopting the "first-in, first-out, cyclical switching" switching logic, each group of capacitors works alternately, avoiding the aging of a single group of capacitors due to long-term operation, greatly extending the overall service life of the capacitors and reducing the later maintenance costs.

4. Multiple safety protections : The compensation unit has built-in overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, over-temperature, and harmonic suppression protection functions. It automatically locks out and stops switching when the grid voltage is abnormal, the capacitor is overheated, or the circuit is faulty, thus protecting the capacitor and the entire power distribution equipment and preventing capacitor bulging, breakdown, explosion and other faults.

5. Significant energy saving and loss reduction : It can effectively offset the inductive reactive power loss of the line, reduce the copper loss and iron loss of the transformer, reduce the voltage drop of the line, stabilize the power supply voltage at the end, eliminate the power factor fee penalty of the power supply bureau, and greatly improve the economic efficiency of the power distribution system operation.

■ Overall Structural Advantages

The cabinet adopts a modular design with separate zones for incoming switches, metering, outgoing lines, and capacitor compensation. Each zone is independently separated with neat wiring and separation of strong and weak current, effectively avoiding electromagnetic interference. It features a waterproof outdoor structure, with a rainproof roof and sealed sealing strips to prevent rainwater, dust, and insects from entering, making it suitable for long-term outdoor operation.

Scope of Application

1. Rural and urban power grid and low-voltage distribution area renovation project;

2. Energy-saving retrofitting of low-voltage power distribution and reactive power compensation in factory workshops and industrial parks;

3. Power distribution terminal control and compensation in residential communities and commercial districts;

4. Dedicated power distribution scenarios for outdoor streetlights, pumping stations, base stations, field equipment, etc.

5. Various outdoor low-voltage power distribution systems that require automatic reactive power compensation and overload and short-circuit protection.

Installation and Usage Instructions

■ Installation Environment Requirements

1. The installation location should be well-ventilated and dry, free from severe vibration, corrosive gases, flammable and explosive materials, and avoid prolonged direct sunlight;

2. Outdoor poles and towers must be securely fixed, the cabinets must be vertical and not tilted, and the height from the ground must comply with electrical installation specifications;

3. The ambient temperature is controlled between -25℃ and +40℃, and the relative humidity is ≤95% (no condensation).

■ Installation Steps

1. Secure the equipment in place, ensure proper grounding of the cabinet with a grounding resistance of ≤4Ω, and ensure electrical safety.

2. Connect the incoming power supply and outgoing load according to the electrical schematic diagram. Ensure the wiring is secure and the wires are tightly clamped. Tin the copper busbar connections and ensure proper insulation.

3. Check that the knife-fuse switch is in the open position, and confirm that the fuses in each circuit are of the correct specifications and that the capacitor compensation unit is correctly wired.

5. Debug the automatic compensation function to confirm that the power factor sampling and capacitor switching are normal, and there are no abnormal noises or overheating.

■ Operating Procedures

1. Closing operation: First close the main knife switch, then close each outgoing circuit switch in sequence. The equipment will automatically enter the running and reactive power compensation state.

2. Tripping operation: First disconnect each outgoing load switch, then disconnect the main fuse switch. It is forbidden to forcibly trip the circuit breaker under heavy load.

3. No manual intervention is required during equipment operation; it automatically completes reactive power compensation adjustment and only needs periodic inspection.

4. When repairing equipment, the main power supply must be disconnected and the capacitors must be fully discharged before starting work to prevent electric shock from residual voltage.

Maintenance and Care

1. Routine inspection: Regularly check the cabinet sealing condition and indicator light status, check that the knife switch contacts are not overheating or discolored, and that the capacitor units are not bulging, leaking, or making abnormal noises;

2. Quarterly maintenance: Clean dust and debris inside the cabinet, check the tightness of wiring terminals and copper busbar connections, test the opening and closing flexibility of the knife switch, and verify the sampling and switching accuracy of the reactive power compensation controller;

3. Annual maintenance: Replace aged sealing strips, check the integrity of fuses, test capacitor capacity, replace capacitors with excessive attenuation; fully verify equipment protection functions;

4. Before restarting after a long period of shutdown, a comprehensive inspection of the circuits and components is required, and the circuits must be dried and ventilated before powering on.

5. It is strictly forbidden to alter the wiring or replace non-standard components without authorization. It is also forbidden to operate the equipment beyond the rated current or over the load.
